Lore

The Azeman is a female were-creature in Surinamese Creole folklore, shedding her skin by day to become human, then transforming into a jaguar or bat at night to suck blood. Warded by scattering seeds or menstrual cloths (which she must count), she represents nocturnal terror and shape-shifting vampirism.
